I'm curious if many OPO's have policies that mandate sitting for CPTC boards? If so, after how long?

| John, If your asking about the Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC), LifeShare of the Carolinas has been requiring that it be passed within 2 year of employment for more than the 10 years that I have been with them. If your asking about the new CTP (Certified Transplant Profusionist), our director of operations indicated to me that it will be encouraged, but it is not yet a policy requirement.

| Nebraska Organ Recovery 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Employees must have twelve months experience as a clinical coordinator, performing all functions of their job independently to be eligible to sit for the CPTC exam. 4.2 The Clinical Services Manager will decide if the clinical coordinator meets the requirements prior to recommending that the clinical coordinator is approved to apply for the exam. 4.3 NORS will pay the exam fee. It is the responsibility of the employee to study and prepare to obtain a passing grade on the exam 4.3.1 If the employee does not pass the exam on the first try, the employee must pay for any subsequent exams taken. 4.4 It is required that all clinical coordinators take the exam within their first 12-24 months of employment at NORS and it is required that they pass the exam within 24 months of employment. 4.5 Recertification by the ABTC is required on a scheduled basis. 4.5.1 It is the employee’s responsibility to notify the Clinical Services Manager that they need to attend educational offerings to obtain continuing education units (CEUs) for recertification. 4.5.2 NORS will pay the cost of obtaining continuing education units and recertification for the CPTC.
