The following are the legislative initiatives we have been and are continuing to work on in 2009. In the coming months I will post updates on our progress with these and any other of our legislative activities. I have also included the slides from the Legislative Update Presentation that were shown at the Annual Meeting in Las Vegas.

• Increased funding ($5 million) for the organ donation and procurement programs of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA),
  
• Tax credits for living organ donation (HR 218).
  
• Equitable organ donor insurance coverage.
  
• Organ donation included in the Family Medical Leave Act. (HR 2776 – 6/9/09)
  
• Pre-Existing Condition Patient Protection Act of 2009 - Prohibits pre-existing condition exclusions in the group and individual markets.
  
• Currently included in Health Care Reform Legislation (HR 3200)
  
• Comprehensive Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage for Kidney Transplant Patients Act – H.R. 1458, S.565
  
• Currently included in the House Health Care Reform bill HR 3200.
