NATCO is considering offering ACLS recertification at the Annual Meeting.  This would likely consist of two components.  An on-line component offered by the AHA.  As well as a testing component at the meeting.  I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Could NATCO use existing members with ACLS instructor status as faculty for the practical testing?  I question who the AHA Training Center issuing the cards would be and who would supply the crash cart, manikins, etc.

Russ,

The hope is that NATCO would provide mannequin's and other necessary equipment. In this method, this is simply a skills assessment and anyone with instructor status could facilitate. The Training Center isn't a major issue as long as the standards are upheld.

Stay tuned, we are still in the fact finding stage.

Understood, I am a former AHA Training Center Coordinator, but the cards will have to be issued from a Training Center after completing the skills station if and only if they have the printed completion of the on-line program prior to skills testing.

I think that would be a great idea, I presently teach all my staff in BLS, ACLS and PALs, being that I am an instructor of these classes. If any help is needed to give classes at a NATCO meeting, please let me know.

Thanks

Thanks!

Not sure if ACLS will be offered this year, but will keep it in mind.
