How do you define advanced clinical practice?  Do you base your definition on degree or experience?

What are the inpatient responsibilities of the NP at your facility? How do the NPs define their roles? I may be taking an inpatient NP position in the near future (the first for my program) and I am fearful that I will be expected to wear both the coordinator and NP hats and become completely overwhelmed.

We have NPs for our lung and liver programs.  In each program the NPs work inpatient.  The NPs do not do the normal work of a coordinator, they function completely as NPs--rounding on patients and writing necessary orders.  Our NPs are required to have prescriptive authority.
