Transplant Experience

The Transplant Experience program was created to meet patients' specific needs throughout the transplant process. It's information. It's tools and tips. It's real advice, from experts in transplantation and other transplant recipients.

American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB)
A not-for-profit, peer group organization founded in 1976 to facilitate the provision of transplantable cells and tissues of uniform high quality in quantities sufficient to meet national needs.

American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC)
An independent, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to award a voluntary, non-governmental certification credential, "Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC)"; "Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC)," or "Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN)" to qualified transplant coordinators or transplant nurses who have successfully passed the certification examination, which represents a standard of competence.

Association of Organ Procurement Organization (AOPO)
Represents and serves organ procurement organizations through advocacy, support, and development of activities that will maximize the availability of organs and tissues and enhance the quality, effectiveness, and integrity of the donation process.

HRSA - Division of Transplantation
Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) envisions optimal health for all, supported by a health care system that assures access to comprehensive, culturally competent, quality care.

Coalition on Donation
A not-for-profit alliance of national organizations dedicated to inspiring all people to donate life through organ and tissue donation.

Organ Procurement Organizations
In the U.S. and Puerto Rico, 58 organ procurement organizations (OPOs) coordinate organ procurement in designated service areas, which may cover all or part of a State; evaluate potential donors, discuss donation with family members, and arrange for the surgical removal of donated organs; and preserve organs and arrange for their distribution according to national organ sharing policies.

Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR)
Supports the ongoing evaluation of the scientific and clinical status of solid organ transplantation including kidney, heart, liver, heart-lung, lung, and pancreas transplants.

Provides valuable information and resources for transplant recipients and living donors.

A nonprofit educational web site serving the world transplant community.

United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS)
A non-profit, scientific and educational organization that administers the nation's only Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network.

Collaboration with companies and employee groups of all sizes to make information on donation available to employees.
