On-demand NATCO Introductory Course for the Transplant Professional

THE PROGRAM YOU KNOW AND TRUST, AVAILABLE ONLINE, ON DEMAND!

This course will provide a customizable learning curriculum for new transplant professionals. The course consists of 8 Core Curriculum modules plus 2 Electives of choice related specifically to the individual's field of practice. Each module consists of education content followed by a quiz to assess the participant's knowledge of the subject matter.

 

Transplant courses are available individually or bundled as an Introductory Course. CEPTC and Nursing Contact hours are available upon the successful completion of an assessment.

Transplant Evaluation and Management of the Waiting List

This session covers the requirements for a transplant recipient evaluation and work up, recognizing the indications and contraindications to being a transplant recipient, the data collection required, and the education of the recipient and the family. Pharmacology 

This session presents the topic of concomitant medications and drug to drug interactions in the transplant patient, dosing guidelines for regularly prescribed immunosuppression medications, and monitoring patients for use of regularly prescribed medications. This session also reviews induction agents, maintenance therapies, desensitization strategies, and medications to reduce infections and eliminate potential rejection.

Regulatory Impact on Transplantation

This session discusses the OPTN and CMS regulations and requirements and their impact on the care of transplant patients. The session will impart an overview of policy development, from start to finish, as well as the expectations of a CMS Survey and the most common citations found in order to help programs be prepared.
