When Options Are Limited: Centralized EVLP with Lung Bioengineering as a Resource for Difficult-to-Place Lungs

Join NATCO, Lung Bioengineering, Donor Alliance, and LifeQuest for an educational webinar exploring how centralized ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) can serve as a valuable resource when conventional placement options are limited. Attendees will gain an overview of Lung Bioengineering’s centralized EVLP service, including referral pathways, operational considerations, and how the service supports evaluation and placement of donor lungs that may otherwise go unused.

 

The webinar will also feature real-world case studies from OPOs that have utilized centralized EVLP in challenging scenarios, including difficult-to-place donor lungs and situations where traditional placement efforts had been exhausted. Through these examples, participants will learn how centralized EVLP can create additional opportunities for utilization, expand access to donor lungs, and ultimately help more patients receive life-saving transplants.

Ashley Brown, MSA, BSN, RN

Lung Bioengineering 
Ashley Brown is the Senior Manager of Transplant Center and OPO Liaisons at Lung Bioengineering, where she has worked since 2021. With a background in nursing and healthcare administration, she brings extensive experience in transplant certification and examination leadership, partnership development, and advancing transplant innovation to support improved outcomes for patients awaiting lung transplantation.

 

 

Sharon Roblowski, CPTC

Donor Alliance
Sharon Rakowski is an Organ Clinical Coordinator IV at Donor Alliance with more than a decade of experience in organ donation and transplantation. She brings expertise in organ recovery, advanced clinical procedures, and donor management, supported by a Master of Science in Biomedical Science with a concentration in Transplantation and Donation Sciences from the University of Toledo.

 

 

Lindsey Eddleblute, B.S., RRT, CPTC

LifeQuest

Lindsay Eddleblute is the Manager of Clinical Operations at LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services, bringing more than a decade of experience in critical care and organ donation. With a background in respiratory therapy, she focuses on donor management, lung optimization, and expanding organ utilization through clinical innovation and collaboration, including the use of EVLP.

 

 

Madeline Black, RRT, CPTC

LifeQuest
Madeline Black is the Director of Clinical Operations at LifeQuest, where she oversees clinical teams and supports efforts to improve organ donation outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. A Registered Respiratory Therapist and Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator, she brings experience in direct patient care and organ procurement operations and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration.
