On-demand NATCO Introductory Course for the Transplant Professional

The program you know and trust, available online, on demand!

This course will provide a customizable learning curriculum for new transplant professionals. The course consists of 8 Core Curriculum modules plus 2 Electives of choice related specifically to the individual's field of practice. Each module consists of education content followed by a quiz to assess the participant's knowledge of the subject matter.

 

Links to additional free educational resources on subjects not addressed by the modules will be made available to each participant in order to provide the most comprehensive education and training available to a new transplant professional.

The NATCO Academy provides a Complete Learning Experience:

  • Faculty assistance will be available via Ask the Expert dashboard
  • Participants will have the option to communicate with other coordinators who are taking the course, via the peer communication platform NATCO Connect
  • Documents will be available through an easily accessible Resource Library

Entire course will be available for a period of 6 months. After 6 months, participant must re- register to obtain access. Course fees include 10 modules, examinations, online study materials, and access to Ask the Expert dashboards. Access to NATCO Connect is only available for NATCO members. NATCO memberships are available separately.

CEPTC credits will be available upon successful completion of the entire course. This activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-002-91) for approval to award contact hours. The Ohio Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on accreditation.

Live, In-Person Introductory Course for the Transplant and Procurement Professional  

Next Course available October 2021

The Introductory Course for the Transplant and Procurement Professional has been a trusted source of education and training for the community since 1982.

Target Audience
The Introductory Course is designed to provide basic information to procurement or transplant professionals. Due to the intense nature of the course, faculty members suggest that participants have a least one month of on-the-job experience in transplantation or donation before attending the course.

Course Format

The course material is presented in lecture and workshop format. A strong faculty-to-participant ratio permits ample opportunity to answer questions, discuss issues and concerns, and to review unfamiliar concepts according to the needs of individual course participants.

Learning Outcomes

Attendees will be able to apply the knowledge received from this course in order to perform the role of the transplant coordinator or the procurement coordinator. Attendees will be able to verbalize the role and responsibilities of these specialty positions.

Criteria for successful completion includes attending each session within a track and turning in an evaluation form.

This activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours.  The Ohio Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (OBN-001-91).
