2021 Introductory Course for Procurement

and  Transplant  Professionals

All new!  live virtual 10-week seminar

Our traditional Introductory Course for Procurement and Transplant Professionals is now being delivered in a live virtual format.  The course will be held over a 10 week period, one class per week, with a live instructor.  Classes will begin in September and continue through November.  All classes will be recorded.  Procurement classes will be held on Tuesdays and Transplant classes will be held on Thursdays.  Class times will be approximately 3:00pm ET to 5:00pm ET.  Some sessions may be scheduled a little longer.  Please see detailed agenda.

Classes will be presented by more than 25 expert faculty from across many disciplines in the field of procurement and transplant.  All course materials have been updated to reflect the most recent updates to policy and reflect best practices being implemented by OPO’s and transplant centers across the United States.

The NATCO Introductory Course has traditionally been an outstanding networking event for professionals who are new to the field.  In an effort to maintain the benefits of this opportunity, we will conduct various virtual networking events following the completion of the course.

The Introductory Course for Procurement and Transplant Professionals has been a trusted source of education and training for the community since 1982.

Target Audience
The Introductory Course is designed to provide basic information to procurement and transplant professionals. Due to the intense nature of the course, faculty members suggest that participants have a least one month of on-the-job experience in transplantation or donation before attending the course.

Learning Outcomes

Attendees will be able to apply the knowledge received from this course in order to perform the role of the transplant coordinator or the procurement coordinator. Attendees will be able to verbalize the role and responsibilities of these specialty positions.

Criteria for successful completion includes attending each session within a track and turning in an evaluation form.

This activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours.  The Ohio Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (OBN-001-91).

On-demand NATCO Introductory Course for the Transplant Professional

The program you know and trust, available online, on demand!

This course will provide a customizable learning curriculum for new transplant professionals. The course consists of 8 Core Curriculum modules plus 2 Electives of choice related specifically to the individual's field of practice. Each module consists of education content followed by a quiz to assess the participant's knowledge of the subject matter.


Links to additional free educational resources on subjects not addressed by the modules will be made available to each participant in order to provide the most comprehensive education and training available to a new transplant professional.

The NATCO Academy provides a Complete Learning Experience:

Entire course will be available for a period of 6 months. After 6 months, participant must re- register to obtain access. Course fees include 10 modules, examinations, online study materials, and access to Ask the Expert dashboards. Access to NATCO Connect is only available for NATCO members. NATCO memberships are available separately.
